Remote Monitoring Systems

Remote monitoring uses sensors on buildings and equipment that monitor the drying process throughout a water damage restoration project. They allow you to switch equipment off remotely, see live moisture readings and relay the data back to any location.

In many cases the help of Remote Monitoring is transformational – whether that is saving hours of wasted travel time to get to a property to discover it was unnecessary or providing the irrefutable evidence to contest false claims, or being able to handle many more claims with your existing staff.

You can never have too much information, and having that available on-line and real time is priceless and with new drying technology with better abilities for remote monitoring, it will soon become mainstream. To get the best from them, becoming familiar with the technology sooner is an increasing priority for both insurers and contractor

So whether you are a DR contractor, a claims manager, an insurer, a manufacturer of original equipment or instrumentation for the DR industry, or a consultant in the field, remote monitoring is beneficial to all.

Remote monitoring can be a helpful step for you companies sustainability program.

Below are the current remote monitoring kits specifically tailored the the restoration industry.

Refurbinators picks out restoration equipment, tools and sundries items that we think are the best and most exciting, based on independent research and careful consideration. On some occasions we earn revenue if you click the links and buy the products. But this doesn’t affect what we choose to highlight and we will never let it bias our coverage.

Remote monitoring – Simplify from Dantherm

The Simplify Sensors measure the temperature and the humidity in the room or in materials i.e. concrete and send the information to the Simplify Control Unit, the GSM communication base-station. The Simplify Control Unit sends the information to the cloud where it is available for all personnel.

The App

You need to install the Simplify App to register the control and sensor units to your job, it also required to tell the system when the job is finished.

The app opens the Smartphone or tablet´s camera and enables the scanning of QR codes on both Simplify Control Unit and the selection of sensors in the Simplify solution.

The app enables the programming of each Simplify solution with the required sensors and in the process name the sensors. After programming the Simplify solution, the app is used to register the project on the Simplify Dashboard. The app is also used to end the project.

The Dashboard

The dashboard presents all of the Simplify data collected from the job site to the user. Each user of the system has their own unique login and visibility of all systems assigned to them, including access to archived information for each system. Hierarchical structures can be created to simulate different authority levels in the business.

From the dashboard you can switch equipment on/off as required

Data is presented in both a chart and tabular format showing temperature, relative humidity, vapour pressure, dewpoint and water content.

What’s in the box?

1 x Control Unit

6 x Sensor units

6 x sensor probes

1 x 3-gang socket unit

The control units and sensor units incorporate useful magnetic points on the base , so can be placed upon radiators, girders or the metal surfaces of Dantherm’s dehumidifiers –

How Simplify remote monitoring works

  • Mobile cloud-based system (GSM) transmitting temperature, humidity data and power consumption from sites to a web-based dashboard
  • Documents the process through data and graphs in real-time showing temperature, humidity, saturated vapour pressure, dew point, water content, kW, and kWh
  • Reduces the need for on-site monitoring, saving companies on travel and labour costs, whilst increasing capacity to take on more jobs
  • Remote on/off switching of any connected equipment
  • High accuracy sensors +/- 2.0 0-100% RH and +/- 0.2 0-90°C
  • Alarms programmable on sensor level and email notification if thresholds are exceeded
  • Data logging provides a historic catalogue of past claims, providing an accurate audit trail for clients
  • Software updates for the Simplify Control Unit, Sensor Box, Relay Box and Integration Box can be performed directly from the cloud

The Trotec TTSL Platform with Multimeasure Cloud

TTSL accepts all monitoring tasks of your drying installations, alerts you around the clock in the event of any problems and automatically indicates that the drying process has been completed and the devices can be dismounted – this makes cost-intensive intermediate measurements by service technicians redundant. In addition, the system can output an alarm message immediately in the event of a machine standstill or power failure.

Via the cloud application MultiMeasure centre, yourself and your authorised employees always have all installations and processes in view from any terminal device and can generate professional process reports for customers and insurances. And by means of TTSL MultiStat, devices connected to TTSL can also be switched on or off directly via cloud.

The App

With the client app, TTSL installations can be easily configured on the spot and transferred to the cloud. For this purpose, all TTSL measuring and sensor boxes are equipped with an individual QR code which is simply read in via the app. In this course, the individual components can then be named, assigned to projects, or new projects can be created, as desired.

Furthermore, authorised users can access the current project data or machine statuses from anywhere and at any time, process sequences can be monitored and changes to projects can be made.

The Dashboard

MultiMeasure centre lists all existing projects that can be created, configured, analysed and archived. The project view shows you all corresponding measurement and sensor boxes as well as the sensor types connected at a glance. In the MultiMeasure centre, all meta data for your projects can be stored, in addition to the components installed, this can also include the site, project team members or the projected period of time.

All your project data are stored safety and in cryptographically secured condition in the cloud. The data of completed projects also remain available to you for as long as you wish.

What’s in the box?

Although there is a carry case available, the system is more of a purchase the individual items as you require them.

Features

  • A platform for all data and application scenarios: Remote monitoring, remote control, analysis and documentation of processes and machinery
  • Central cloud platform allows for data access to all installations from anywhere at any time
  • Remote monitoring spares you cost-intensive on-site inspection visits by the technical staff
  • Modular design for cost-effective, customised adjustment and enhancement
  • Mobile system for construction sites and machinery
  • QR code scan of all components for easy installation and start-up
  • Multi-client system to handle a great number of clients – customisable for employees and customers
  • Clear-structured measuring data analysis and export option for documentation
  • Definition of individual threshold values for alarm messages of all signal transmitters
  • Can be used with any brand of drying regime
