The word ozone is derived from the Greek verb ozein<\/em>, which means \u201csmell.\u201d and if you have ever heard the phrase \u201csmells like rain?\u201d Well, people who say they can smell a storm coming are correct, but the fresh smell in the air following a thunderstorm is where the ozone is more commonly smelt. What they\u2019re really smelling is actual ozone as when the rain washes all the dust and particulates from the air, then the electrical discharge from lightning blasts nitrogen and oxygen molecules apart creates ozone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strong aroma of this chemical compound has commonly been described as having a chlorine type bleach aroma and as ozone has a distinctive smell that humans can detect even in small concentrations \u2014 as few as 10 parts per billion, we are very in tune with this aroma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to use an Ozone generator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each and every ozone generator is different, so if you\u2019re using one for the first time, make sure to read the instructions carefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close all of the windows in the property and turn on the ozone generator according to the instructions. After that, you\u2019ll need to leave the area and let the ozone do its job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many units have a timer with a switch off alarm and will then switch off after a certain amount of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allow the ozone to disperse entirely before entering the property or room after the period has ended. This could take a few hours, so be patient and allow enough time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some machines are designed to re-circulate the ozone saturated air and convert the molecules back into oxygen. With this type of machine, it will safe to return into the treated area almost immediately when the ozone machine has completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the restoration industry , do not be confused by the word Ozonator. It is a ozone machine that is used to <\/strong>clean the water of your hot tub or spa. Not a lot of use as an air ozone purifier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
